We are delighted that you have chosen a place for your child at Hounsome Fields Primary School. We are looking forward to starting our journey together.

We know how important this milestone is for your children and your family. Our aim is to make this transition as smooth and welcoming as possible. This is a truly exciting time, and we will collaborate to ensure that it is enjoyable and memorable.

We have planned exciting parts of the transition into our school to ensure our founding families are comfortable and up to date with the plans ahead. It is important to note that the dates are not officially set yet as we await the final site handover date. Below are some key parts to be aware of for now.

• June: Mr Carter will have a Welcome phone call with you. During this month Mr Carter will also aim to visit your child in their preschool/nursery setting.
   
• July: Mr Carter will invite you into the school to have a tour.
  (dates and times will be sent out via email once site handover is completed.)
   
• Thursday 17th July: Hounsome Fields Induction Day - 1:15pm - 2:45pm.
  Your children will spend time in their classrooms meeting the teaching team.
  During this time you will be given information from Mr Carter, the school catering team, the uniform provider and the wrap around/after school care team.

The school will officially open in September following the Summer holiday break. 
We have carefully planned a transition that will give you and your children a calm and settled start to school life at Hounsome Fields Primary School.

Thursday 4th to Tuesday 9th September 2025 – Home Visits
Your child’s teacher and a learning support assistant will visit your child in their home environment. This is another opportunity for your child to bond with their teacher and gives you the opportunity to ask questions. These visits will be coordinated and sent out to you before the summer break.

Wednesday 10th September 2025 – Reception Pupils’ First Day (From 8.15am-11.45am)

Thursday 11th September 2025 – Morning and Lunch (8.15am-1.30pm)

Friday 12th September 2025 onwards – First Full Day (8.30am-3.15pm)

From Monday 15th September - the children will attend full days.
